Children who need more can sometimes get a referral for Early Childhood Education (VVE). With VVE, children receive additional support in child care. A referral is needed for VVE. This referral can be obtained through the child health care office (from the age of two).
At Kinderopvang Prins Vleermuis Campus, we also offer a VVE program. By offering preschool education, the goal is to better prepare these children for elementary school and ensure that they can happily attend elementary school with less, or even no, delay.
Every child has a mentor. The mentor of children with a VVE referral will offer appropriate extra activities based on the developmental objectives. Because toddlers with a VVE referral attend several half-day sessions, they receive a lot of repetition and we can monitor the children better together with the parents. We look at what a toddler needs and focus on that. Only pedagogical professionals with VE certification work in the VE group.
We use our own VVE program that we develop ourselves. This also involves the pedagogical professionals. The themes are tailored to the children’s experiences, such as a theme about spring. We go outside to discover what is growing and blossoming around the nursery and grow our own vegetables!
